The voyage of Mars through Cancer gives us the opportunity to blend the fiery planet’s initiative with Cancerian concerns for preservation. We’ll want to spend this time carefully building things that honor and acknowledge our connection to the past and to family values. Our urge to move forward during this time doesn’t cut us off from familiar patterns, but includes them, to make for a more gentle and comfortable step into the future.
It’s true that Mars is toned down when it moves through sensitive Cancer, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get anything done. If we learn how to work with the Mars-in-Cancer energy, a great deal can be accomplished. Digging into domestic tasks is one of the best ways to use this transit. Mars in Cancer is a great opportunity to get out your hammer and nails so you can start (or finish) a home improvement project.
You may also feel a greater need to fight for the rights of a family member or a domestic situation during this time. Even though Mars in Cancer prefers using its energy to nurture, it will ultimately do whatever it takes to defend what and whom it cares about. As a result, you may notice that an intensely protective instinct takes over your actions when Mars and Cancer sync up.
The problem with Mars’ transit though cautious Cancer is that rather than taking a direct approach to going after what we want, we take a more passive one. If we don’t feel emotionally connected to something, it’s unlikely we’ll take action. Unfortunately, the action we do take is usually ruled by the heart, and may be more reactive and oversensitive than purposeful.

Hey there, Cancerians! Let's get ready to rumble with the cosmos!
As your zodiac sign suggests, you're all about home, family, and feelings, and you can be as moody as a cat deciding whether it wants in or out of the door. But guess what? With the New Moon only half-a-day old, she’s still a tiny cosmic baby, kind of like your motivation level on a Monday morning. So, no major decisions for now, okay? Stick to knitting space suits for your pet goldfish, or whatever it is you do when you're not saving the world with your compassion.
This New Moon encourages you to take baby steps, my dear crustacean. And I don’t mean wear diapers and cry for food every few minutes - although, if that floats your boat, who am I to judge? I mean, try new things gradually. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, mainly because they didn’t have coffee back then.
So, whether you've been contemplating taking up underwater basket-weaving or planning to solve the mystery of why your socks keep disappearing in the laundry, just remember: slow and steady wins the race. Unless you’re racing against a cheetah, then you’re probably in trouble.
Also, try to avoid any emotional rollercoasters. If you feel the urge to cry at the sight of a half-eaten sandwich, remind yourself – it’s just the lunar baby blues. Take a deep breath, make some tea, and maybe write a poetic eulogy for the sandwich. You'll be fine.
Keep your shell polished and your claws sharp, dear Cancer. The universe might seem like a confusing soup of stars and planets (with a side of comet croutons), but it’s all swirling in your favor. Except Neptune, he’s a bit of a wild card. I think he might still be upset about Pluto's demotion.
