The Solar System at a Glance

The solar wind environment was enhanced under CIR followed by CH HSS influence. Total field reached a peak of 12 nT, but otherwise averaged 6-8 nT. The Bz component was mostly south and ranged +/- 9 nT. Solar wind speeds increased from near ambient-like, background levels to a peak of ~590 km/s at about 03/0915 UTC, and meandered between ~480-590 km/s since. Phi was variable between sectors between approximately 03/0038-0514 UTC, but was convincingly positive thereafter. There is a 10% chance of solar activity, with a 25% chance of a minor event, a 40% chance of a moderate event, and a 25% chance of a strong event.
