The Solar System at a Glance
Solar wind parameters were indicative of flanking edge impacts from the the 13 Jun CME. Total IMF strength increased from ~6 nT to 14-15 nT with the arrival of an interplanetary shock at 15/0400 UTC. The Bz component turned pronounced southward shortly afterwards and reached a maximum deviation of -12 nT. As CME influences progressed, IMF strength decreased and settled at primarily 7-9 nT, while the Bz component was prolonged southward until near 15/1700 UTC, when it rotated northward. Solar wind speed was ~500 km/s until shock arrival, when it escalated to 550 km/s and eventually peaked at 623 km/s. Solar wind speed had since decreased to 550-600 km/s. The phi angle was negative, with the exception of a period from 15/1050-1400 UTC when it shifted into a negative sector.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 20% chance of a minor event, a 10% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
