Solar activity was low with nine sunspot groups present on the visible solar disk. Background X-ray flux continued at low C-class levels, and only occasional C-class flares were observed. Region 3288 (S23W68; Ehi/beta-delta) underwent decay and its delta configuration weakened. The region was the source for most C-class flares, the largest of which was a C5.5 flare at 02/1818 UTC. Region 3293 (N13E51; Dhi/beta-delta) was the other primary region of interest. It rotated further onto the visible disk and a weak delta configuration was confirmed within the intermediate spot section. Despite the delta signature, magnetic shear throughout the region was primarily loose and only a few weak C-class and optical subflares were noted.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
Solar wind parameters were indicative of continued, elevated solar wind speeds, with likely contribution from an isolated negative polarity CH HSS. Total IMF strength averaged 5 nT and the Bz component was variable, but with more prolonged periods of southward direction the first half of the reporting period. Solar wind speed averaged about 500 km/s and the phi angle was predominantly negative, with oscillations between sectors later in the period.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 25% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
