Solar activity was at low levels due to low level C-flare activity. The majority of the spotted regions were simple Axx/alpha spot groups with the exception of Regions 3251 (S13W22, Hsx/alpha), 3254 (S24W55, Bxo/beta), and 3255 (S05E13, Bxo/beta). Most regions appeared to be slightly decaying with the exception of Region 3251, which was stable. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
Solar wind parameters were enhanced through 16/1430 UTC with solar wind speeds ranging from 500-586 km/s, total field reaching 7 nT and the Bz component between +/-6 nT. Thereafter, total field calmed to around 5 nT with solar wind speed below 500 km/s. Phi angle was variable.
There is a 20% chance of solar activity, with a 1% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
