Solar activity was at low levels. Region 3254 (S25W43, Cro/Beta) was the culprit of a C1 flare at 15/0630 UTC, while Region 3252 (N13W09, Axx/alpha) produced a long duration C1.0 at 15/2216 UTC. Two new emerging spot groups were observed near N23W16 and S18E35, but remain unnumbered at this time due to a lack of activity and corroborating USAF observatory reports. The other regions on the visible solar disk were either stable and quiet, in decay, and otherwise unremarkable. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is high, making retrograde effects significantly increased!
The solar wind environment reflected weak positive polarity CH HSS influence and shock arrival of what was likely the 11 Mar CME. Beginning at approximately 15/0348 UTC total field in the IMF sharply increased to 21-26 nT. The Bz component of the field briefly reach -16 to -17 nT shortly after, but was otherwise mostly northward. During the time of shock arrival solar wind speeds increased from near 420 km/s to ~557 km/s, and density increased to roughly 33 particles per cubic cm. Phi was predominantly positive.
There is a 25% chance of solar activity, with a 35% chance of a minor event, a 25% chance of a moderate event, and a 10% chance of a strong event.
