Solar activity was a low levels. Region 3250 (S18W22, Bxo/Beta) exhibited decay this period, losing leading spots and most of its trailing penumbra. AR 3250 was responsible for a C3 flare at 14/0605 UTC, which was the largest of the period. Regions 3254 (S24W28, Cao/Beta) and 3255 (S05E39, Bxo/Beta) were numbered. AR 3254 was the culprit for a C1.3 and C2.9 flare at 14/0809 UTC and 14/1119 UTC, respectively. A new spot group near N13W19 was observed, but remains unnumbered as of time of this writing as it appears to be in rapid decay. The remaining ARs on the visible disk were relatively stable and quiet. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
NOAA reports a Minor Solar Storm! Retrograde effects are moderately increased. The solar wind speed is high, making retrograde effects significantly increased!
The solar wind environment reflected positive polarity CH HSS onset and what is likely transient influence from the 10 or 11 Mar CME(s). Total field peaked at 16 nT near 14/0431 UTC. The Bz component was primarily +/- 11 nT with a few sustained southward deflections of -6 to -8 nT. Phi was positive, but became somewhat variable between approximately 14/0700
